    Irish Series Of Poker 2010
    TOWER HOTEL, WATERFORD - JULY 6TH-11TH 2010
In association with Big Slick Events

We have the Irish series of Poker for July in Waterford and sats are starting online in 2 weeks for this , The question that we want the players to answer is which would you rather going on the current climate ,Killarney is 3 weeks before for the Poker Stars event and is €1000 .We have pitched at €750 for teh Main event in Waterford and after this and the Bruce game is 2 weeks after us for €400 . Now we are more inclined to go for €500 following a hugely successful event at the lakes of Killarney this seems to be the way to go with it in as money is just tight throughout Ireland . Our side events are more more affordable also .

Heres the three options we want to run by now

    Option 1

Main Event €675+€75 Reg -20,000 Chips
    Clock Day 1 60 Mins
    Clock day 2 75 Mins
    Clock day 3 90 Mins

    Option 2

    Main Event €450+50 Reg - 20,000 Chips
    Clock Day 1 60 Mins
    Clock day 2 75 Mins
    Clock day 3 90 Mins

    Option 3

    Main Event €300+50 Reg - 20,000 Chips
    Clock Day 1 60 Mins
    Clock day 2 75 Mins
    Clock day 3 75 Mins

Other events over the festival confirmed

Why not just put up a poll and let people have a vote on the 3 options?

    Same thing really Keith

Not if it's a poll where you can't see the way people have voted already. It might give you a different result. But as this is a feedback thread I would think you are making your decision based on who is likely to attend as well as the buy in they want, which makes sense.

FWIW I would vote for option 2 but probably won't attend. It depends on how my year is going.

    1 or 2

3 is a bit small for a ME

i'd rather 1 but I'd reckon 2 will get more runners

i wouldn't play option 2 due to the reg being >10%. i know a lot of the lads would have similar feelings on it. if it's going to be a monkey event have it 500+50. in the current climate have reg >10% isn't justifiable for the players. imo...

Not being funny, but keep it at €750 imo.

WHILE ITS ALL THE ONE TO ME, OPTION 1 IS REASONABLY EXCLUSIVE

OPTION 2 IS WHERE IT SEEMS TO BE WITH A WIDE RANGE OF PLAYERS, ALTHOUGH LAST WEEKEND IN KILLARNEY THE NUMBERS WERE SERIOUSLY DOWN
COULD BE BLAMED ON ANY NUMBER OF ISSUES, INCLUDING WEATHER, DRIVING CONDITIONS BEING UNKNOWN, TOO MANY EVENTS

OPTION 3 SHOULD MEAN A BIGGER TURNOUT AND AFFORDABLE TO MANY
WHEN YOU ADD IN OVERNIGHTING IN A HOTEL ETC, OPTION 3 INCL HOTEL COMES TO APPROX 500, WHICH IS WHERE ITS AT

OPTION 3 = BIGGER FIELD, PROBABLY THE SAME PRIZE POOL AS OPTION 1 OR 2

OPTION 3 FOR ME PLEASE, THOUGH PUT ME DOWN FOR WHICHEVER HAPPENS, BIG-SLICK ALWAYS RUNS A GOOD EVENT

    Hi Adam ,

The thing is i can reduce the €750 TO €50 Reg but to run a 3 day event the main event reg has to be a minimum of €50 no matter wat the buy in .. so that food and accomodation can be provided for both players and staff .. The better the structure the more expensive it becomes im afraid . Or costs dont go down in the hotel according to teh Buy in they stay the same

    Regards

I know this, I understand your costs are fixed and you have to charge x amount to run the show for the weekend. That's why, from a players perspective, the bigger the buyin, the less % the reg is, that's why I suggested either keeping it at 750 or else instead of 450+50 have it at 500+50 so that at least the reg isn't great than 10%.

I don't think travelling for a festival with main event buyin having >10% reg is justifiable, especially in the current climate, whatever about a couple of years ago.

I agree with ya Adam but Unfortunately as i Buisness i cant justify it .. The players seem to be lookin for the €500 Game and i can understand that you are a player who looks at all aspects of teh event and i appreciate your input, Really a normal event is 9% reg of the Total prizepool on large buy ins .. For the €500 game it will be 10% the total prizepool for reg . I know it work out at 11% calculating other ways .

Anyhow we hope to have 200 runner+ for this event this year in waterford and as u can see i have hit the hotel hard to scale back room prices to €49pps which is very good for the middle of July in One of waterfords Top hotels ..

Anyhow hope to see you at future events and i good luck for 2010

    Regards

    Neill

you left out a 4th Option. Should the whole series been cancelled due to the current economic climate and already busy market place. To be honest I doubt you'll have anywhere near 200 and I would keep the buy-in around the 500 mark if you really must go ahead with it.

Sorry for been honest but you asked for feedback. I reckon numbers at all events will be down 30 to 50% this year and I'm planning on only playing one event this year. I was really supprise at GJP selling out and I'm guessing that was due to the name of the event more then anything else and people thinking there getting excellant value etc.

Hi Ollie , Really dont see where the number drop if u get Qualifiers and thats where we intend to get them .. we expect to qualify over 100 players easily through Online Sats with 3 sites whom have agreed and or own associates ladbrokes . We will also have our new casino open for this and will Qualify through there . With our links to the clubs in the country sats will also be on in most clubs. This will be a superb festival and we are already planning it now .

Its all about the work u put into the event prior to it that makes the event work . Thanks for the input all appreciated and welcomed and i hope to see u soon its been too long .

    Regards

    Neill

without a doubt option 1 bigger buy in more exclusive doesnt attract as many idiots 750 all the way

ps dont even consider at all what ollieboy said definitely hit the 200 mark no problem just cos he is playin only 1 doesnt mean anythin prob a fish anyway ha
