V2 Gearbox trouble

    Here's the story so far.

Noticed on my last outting that my M4 wasn't feeding.
On opening the gearbox I saw that the Tappet plate broke so got a reinforced one.
Fitted this and cycled the gearbox, worked perfectly then noticed that the piston was bouncing around. Knew straight away that the anti reverse latch must be broken or the spring. It was the spring.
Replaced this and set it all back up. Cycled again and this time the air nozzle flew across the room???!!
Checked it and saw that the lip on it was broken, seriously I must be jinxed.
Anyway my problem is that when I went back to the gearbox I also saw that the tappet plate has snapped below where it would hold the air nozzle.

Can anyone tell me what I was doing wrong?
I'm thinking that I had the cylinder head too far back in the cylinder and when the piston shot forward it broke the tappet plate and nozzle.

Can anyone please shed some light as my head is wrecked with it.

    Cheers

The cylinder head locates onto the gearbox shell so it can't be in the wrong place if the gearboc shell is closed properly.

Might you simply be incredibly unlucky? ;)

Maybe it's just a bad gearbox, what make is it?

    Morning thermo,

TBH there are no original parts in it at this stage.
It has new gears, bearing bushings, cylinder head, air nozzle.... you get the idea.
Had another go at it over the weekend and got it sorted. Ordered new parts and fitted them. They seem to have sorted the problem.
    It's a working like a dream now.

    Thanks for the help folks.
