I'm not happy with the range I'm getting with my AEG at the mo so I though a barrel and hop up change was due; I was thinking of getting a TK twist barrel, I need a 510mm( roughly ) barrel so will that suffice? also I what hop up rubber? The accuracy is grand it's just that the trajectory is too sloped for it to be effective( yeah I did try adjusting the hop setting ). So any advice for a lazy git who couldn't be bothred finding the info himslef is welcome:D

Get a madbull with guarder silicone hopup rubber,. you can also use one of those shark buckings with it and it should be performing very nicely., :)

I heard madbull barrels flake on the inside? they are cheap but I'm willing to spend quite a bit of bob on a barrel.

i have heard that somewhere in the past but its said to be the original barresl from ages ago, even so ,ive never seen it.,

Promethius barrels are defo worth a look though, a bit on the pricey side but really well finished., :)

Have this setup on my TM and it is pretty sweet:

    1. Prometheus Tight Bore Barrel

    2. Prometheus Air Seal Chamber Packing Purple Soft Type

    3. Shredder's Concave Spacer (SCS) Hopup Spacer (little nub for hop up)

Apologies for (slightly) hijacking the thread but I'm about to have some similar upgrades installed on a gun so I am very interested in the discussion. Can someone explain what a 'shark bucking' is?

the madbul v1 barrel had issue, the v2 are a different finish, i run them almost exclusively unless i need a length they do not make, but i would go with masda and a few others on this, madbul with guarder clear ( i sometimes use madbul blue another good bucking)

product name from madbull, other company's produce the same product under different name, just a design of bucking to help feeding and stop double feeding, i find there a must sometimes with semi auto only aegs, i used some in my realsword svd to eliminate the double feeding there, normally comes with a wish bone nub that is designed to allow more contact with the bb in theory giving improved performance, posters explain things a little better

    I am just wondering,

I am into buying everything as cheap as possible, even if it means not buying the top end stuff, so if someone could help me out that would be appreciated.

I am just wondering the cheapest way to get better range on my Cybergun M4A1 CQBR. I know its a CQG, but I like to do a bit of the sniping, if only I could get a bit more range from it. Any suggestions?

Stock barrel vs. TB 6.03 vs. TB 6.01

    http://www.youtube.com/airsoftgidotcom#p/a/u/2/JljwimGRVAA

Interesting stuff, the first question that needs to be answered is whether the fact that the test AEG was probably >1J (legal in USA) was a factor. Would we see the same benefits going with a 6.01 vs. a 6.03 at ≤1J ? Also, what are the downsides (if any) of going with a 6.01: do you lose fps or gain fps (& possibly exceed 1J as a result); would it put additional pressure on the rest of the internals & possibly result in faster/more frequent failures? What TBs are most Irish/UK airsofters upgrading to, 6.03 or 6.01?

    Cheers, Mark.

always found i got diminished returners after 6.03 and the cost of 6.01 is normally silly and not value for money

retialor in ireland would normally stock 6.03 6.04 tb
