Installing window wiper motor

    Window wiper motor went during the big freeze :mad: gonna buy one in a scrap yard and try fit it myself. Can anybody run me through the basics?

    Disconnect the battery before you do anything, a wiper motor will break/remove fingers without any problem.

    be very careful removing the scuttle panel from below the windscreen, clips tend to be fragile and bits get lost.

    Mark the position of the wipers on the windscreen to make things easier when reassembling, and be gentle with the linkages when you're removing the motor.

    Also, gofasterS13 is dead right about disconnecting the battery, the motor is very strong and torquey and could easily injure you.

    Check that there is no problem with the spindles sticking and that the wipers move freely with the motor removed.
