Tightbore Barrels

Looking at upgrading a couple of my AEG's with tightbore barrels and have noticed that there are huge price differences between the different makes. For instance Vanaras seems to be around the €20 mark while Madbull Black Pythons seems to be around €40 and Laylax Prometheus around the €50 mark.
Is it a question of you get what you pay for? Is it worth shelling out for a Laylax at that price? Are the cheaper Vanaras barrels ok or are they just going to rust or implode or something?!
Can anyone recommend a barrel they have had good results with for reasonable money? I don't want to break the bank but I don't want something that isn't going to last the pace either!

    Cheers people!

    :)

Can only speak for what I have which is as follows.

I've two 407x6.03mm barrels. The one in my TM G36C is a Prometheus and the one in my Ares Tavor is a JBUnicorn.

The Prometheus was about €44 when I bought it - they've gone up in price significantly since then. The JB was about €30.

Both AEGs exhibited a significant increase in accuracy with the install of the tightbores however, my G36 is significantly more accurate than my tavor after 20meters. This could be down to the quality of the Promy barrel but it could also be influenced by a number of factors (including the famed TM hopup).

Regardless, a worthwhile upgrade on both counts.

Promethius and Madbull are my chosen barrels for most of my guns, I was quite impressed by the quality of the Vanaras barrel though, much nicer than i was expecting. I'll report back when i can give more info on it but for now, defo worth a look for the money., :)

I've just ordered a Vanaras barrel from RSOV to give it a try in my M4 (if you ever give it back to me Richie! :p). It only cost €11.41 delivered so was worth a punt (RSOV are offering free shipping on Vanaras barrels among other things)!
The barrels are nickel-plated brass apparently. I'll wait and see how it fares before buying any more.

    Thanks lads!:pac:

I found a brand spankers G&P shell today Gar, so it might be sooner rather than later., :D

I bought a Vanaras tightbore barrel for my MP5K. One just to see what the Vanaras barrels were like and two because the accuracy sucked on my MP5K. And it only cost my a little over €6 so I said why not I'll just throw it into my order.

When I first got the barrel I was not impressed, first thing I noticed was the crowning on the barrel was sh!t. But I said well I bought the damn thing I might as well try it out. Stuck it in my MP5K along with a Guarder clear silicone hopup. And I was very impressed with the added range and accuracy. The Vanaras tightbore easily doubled the accuracy of my MP5K.

Edit: I forgot to add I might have just got a lemon. If I was just looking to throw a few quid into a gun to upgrade it a little then I'd buy a Vanaras barrel again.

One thing I'm wondering, that the people who've used more than one brand can answer:

Is it a case, for the most part, of you get what you pay for? People seem impressed with Vanaras, but more so on a scale of "I expected them to be terrible and they're not so terrible" so I'm just wondering what peoples thoughts are :)

PS: I've had no problemos and can only say good things about madbull tightbore + Guarder hop (thanks for the upgrade Richie + Eirsoft)

Well the only other tightbore barrels I've used are the Madbull black python barrels.
But I can't exactly compare a Vanaras tightbore MP5K barrel to a Madbull tightbore M16 barrel.

I really didn't know what to expect when ordering the Vanaras barrel. I was kinda expecting it to show no real noticeable increase in the accuracy. So it actually surprised me when changed the barrel.

It is very much the case you get what you pay for, but for the price of the Vanaras you get a lot more then your expecting. So IMO for the price, its a great barrel. It wouldn't compare to the likes of a Madbull, but I don't think its trying to.
