    Hi all,
Last time I posted I was looking for advice on whether to upgrade to Cubase 5 or start afresh with Logic 9 on my new Imac i7 Quad.
Quick update: went with Apogee Duet and Cubase 5 after all, decided there was too much work in transferring all my songs onto a new DAW.
Mac is of course excellent and Duet is also pretty good.
Have a question for all the guitarists out there.
Forgive the broadness of this but which Amp Sim / Tone generator is a good recommendation for the occasional guitarist and jack of all trades songwriter? Don't want to spend a lot but looking for decent enough quality that I can monitor/record as I play. Cubase has an amp sim plug in but it's not great and the latency is prohibitive.
    Thanks
    J

I like the Cubase 5 amp sim.

Pod Farm.... Prefer it to guitar rig for throwing stuff down....

Dont be expecting the world though....

I use Guitar Rig, but Podfarm is pretty good too. GR 4 is a good improvement on 3 by the way.

Guitar rig 4 is pretty cool.
But for the same price, have you considered getting a line6 pod, or a zoom pedal?
They are external but you wont have any latency problems. And they are quite versatile pedals, with plenty of presets and effect types.
Good for doing up some home demos.

At the end of the day we are talking just THROWING down here we wouldnt want to use any of these transister fake things for anything serious :)

Pods and the alike are all pretty crap, its been discussed alot on here but for speed and demo ability pod farm or guitar rig will do the job
