Richard Bruton is coming down to campus after he speaks at the commerce conference today to promote the NewERA stimulus package. Should be outside the student centre at about three. Come say hi!! :)

    ****!

Didn't see this til now, would have definitely gone along.

Apparently Garret Fitzgerald is speaking in the Aula Maxima on Saturday, that would be fantastic to go to, but I'm working for the whole day.

Well that was a closely-guarded secret! Sounds like YFG UCC need a new PRO...

I walked right past there at 3 and all. I wouldn't be the biggest FG supporter but Bruton is one of the few gems in the Dail.

I don't think there's anyone in the Dail who I respect more than Richard Bruton tbh. He'd make a fantastic Taoiseach, very charismatic man.

YFG, next time you invite the likes of Bruton down, feel free to give us a bit of notice!

He was down for the Commerce Conference, not YFG.

When your party leader is Enda Kenny white paint looks charismatic. Seems like a decent guy but has no personality what so ever.

Bruton seems decent and has a good track record of speaking out against what are now obviously awful policies.

Whats the point in having Garret Fitzgerald speaking on a Sat when few of the students are around?

Might be the only day they could get him. He's in high demand of late. He'd be well worth going to see and plenty of students spend their weekends in Cork. You'll probably find that the majority of people who genuinely want to hear him wont mind turning up on a saturday.

I suppose the Aula Maxima has a limited capacity and having it on a Saturday will ensure that they won't have to turn anyone away or have it overcrowded.

The president was there last week, UCC really like to keep things quiet. :/

To be honest I think Simon Conveney aka Skinner from the X Files will be a future Taoiseach.

Plus I have a useless bit of trivia that I served him the first alcoholic beverage of his marriage :p

Pity I didn't know about this (well I was working anyway) but I'd like to have met or listened to Richard Bruton speak. I think he's fantastic. Again couldn't call myself a stauch FG supporter, but I think he's great at what he does.

Would also love to hear Garrett Fitz at the weekend, but I've something else on.

Mary McAleese and Martin Manseargh are also speaking at the weekend. :)
