    i bought a 3rd generation (think its 3rd) in the states over a year ago from an Apple store.

    Its got a problem now that it doesnt seem to power on.
    When connected to a PC usb - it works fine. I can browse through its contents.

    but once unconnected, it wont power on. it wont reset. i've left it plugged in for hours into a pc and still doesnt seem to charge.

    when its connected to the pc and i select 'disconnect' - but actually leave it in the pc, it displays the battery charging graphic.

    any ideas ??
