    Hey there,
I bought a 2nd hand iphone and the headphone jack is faulty. I have checked the serial number on the apple website and it says it still has limited warranty. But since the phone is 2nd hand is there anything I should be aware of before contacting Apple for a repair service, since I wasn't the original owner??

The phone was jailbroken, but I restored/reset the phone after getting it anyway because the jailbreak was making the battery run out in a few hours.

    Thanks

I don't think so that should be a problem as they don't ask for receipt and you are owner now anyway.

Check that there is not a build up of lint or fluff in the headphone jack, a toothpick will clear anything if there is. Mine has become blocked before and I thought it was faulty, was just a bit of tissue at the bottom of the jack.

Tried this but no joy unfortunately. Looks like the jack itself is malfunctioning.

Would this be something apple will cover in the "Limited Warranty"?
