3G repeaters - programmable?

So I received (for some reason?) a 3G repeater from 3, to boost the 3G signal in my home - that's not my problem as I explained to the 3 CSR, but if they want to send me out hardware anyway, then fair enough!

Anyway, the repeater is: http://www.nextivityinc.com/product-overview.php which looks programmable, as it has a port on the side of it, but I cannot find any documentation on the website to direct how to do this?

It appears that the repeater is pre-configured solely for the specific operator (3) rather then boosting any 3G signal it picks up. Anyone any ideas how to go about reprogramming for other operators? Basically, my 3 3G/HSDPA signal is fine (my 3 network backbone is not!) but I'd like to use the repeater to boost my Vodafone/Meteor signal if possible.

    Cheers

The repeater is tuned to the 3 network, and cannot be used on any other network. The other frequencies belong to the other Operators, and it is illegal for anyone to use them.

There have been several threads on Boards about these Nextivity repeaters. 3 are buying them using Taxpayer/EU funding as part of the National Broadband Scam(NBS). At this stage, most of them appear to have been abandoned, and people are trying to find other uses for them. There may be nothing wrong with the repeater, but 3 are trying to use them to plug holes in their completely inadequate coverage, and to compensate for their totally overloaded network. No repeater could do this. As you have correctly pointed out, like everyone one else on the NBS, your problem is the 3 Network, not the repeater.

If you qualified for the repeater, you are probably in an NBS area(although this isn't certain, as 3 also appear to be handing out these Government subsidised boxes in non-NBS areas). If you are in an NBS area, you are now entitled to apply for the Satellite service from 3. This is not provided over 3's network, but by an independent 3rd party supplier. It seems to work ok, although subject to the usual latency issues with satellite, and may also get overloaded if they eventually put too many people on it. You need to pester 3 until they give you the Satellite service. Don't take any nonsense - you are entitled to it under the NBS at the same price as the dongle rubbish. 3 don't like giving it out, as they probably lose money on it. Make sure to copy your experiences to Eamon Ryan, Minister for Communications, whose Dept is responsible for this whole scam.

i got a repeater as well and made no difference.
I wouldnt be to bad if it didnt suddenly lose connection when you are in the middle of something. thats really annoying.
