My computer is going fecking mental!!!! I looked at that Yahoo link about the stalker and my internet went dial-up slow and shut down! Not a problem I thought, but no,the b@astard thought wise to throw another problem at me. While browsing peacefully here another window popped up,titled "16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem"

    In it says:

    C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\e.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
    CS:1232 IP:0152 OP:3 76 74 6f 6e Chose "close" to terminate the application.

Simple enough me-thinks,so I click close, but it appears again, and again and again. So I click ignore, but the same thing happens. So I click the X in the corner but low and behold no joy.

Basically it all led me to this thread.

Am I ****ed? Has either my computer or me got super-aids? Or am I missing a simple solution?
    :(

Well, doing a virus scan will help.

And cleaning out your temp files.

Hi,I don't know feck all about these thing and always panic if something happens my laptop. Found this http://www.techimo.com/forum/technical-support/117644-ntdvm-cpu-has-encountered-illegal-instruction.html
(I haven't read through the replies)
Theres a computer section on boards too under tech, they might know something about it.

Or you could do a system restore to a time when it was working properly. I'm just guessing it's not hardware. Instincts say spyware/worm.

Open Task manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Click processes. If you see "e.exe" then right click and select "End process tree".
Go to C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\ and delete everything in there.
That file e.exe is the virus but it prob wont let ya delete it from windows so you'll have to start up in "Safe mode" and then go to C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\ and delete everything.

Btw, if you go to watch a video on the internet and it tells you that you need to install software to watch it, its a virus.

    try:
http://free.grisoft.com for a free anti-virus program. Its pretty popular. Should sort ya out.

try the first bit before ya install that though.

EDIT: Actually, heres a big huge explanation of how to get rid of it for good!

    B-Man your a legend :D

As you said,It would not let me delete the .exe. Ill take a look at the link now.

Cheers everyone. Ill give an update soon. I would hate to keep you all in suspense!

Edit: FearDark,it takes a better man to admit it ;)

I have used this a few times to sort out computers that were almost dead. It's called Malware Bytes, it's free and a piece of piss to use. If the infection doesn't allow you to download or install it, then install/run in safe mode (F8 at boot, I think). Someone else mentioned System Restore. That could work as well.

And in future, when you're browsing for amputee-toilet seat-donkey porn, make sure you use firefox with the adblock plus, flashblock and noscript plugins.

    Update?

Ran 2 scans,Pc tools spyware doc and SuperAntiSpyware. Both found a Trojan, the .exe. temp file.

Now the long process of cleaning up:(

The computer is running fine now though,so hopefully by the morning I will have it sorted.

Mrtash, thanks for that. I wouldent use anything else other that Firefox with adblock. Dont know how it happened but I would let it beat me!

Thanks for the help and the concern everybody:D

If worst comes to worst, google 'killdisk'. Its the most extreme option you have but it worked for me when i got a trojan that nothing could fix including a complete reformat of the hard drive.
