    Latest Patch:
Updates to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

    * Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized
    * Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry
    * Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s
    * Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and 'elevators'
    * Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency
    * Fixes to prevent various texture and XP hacks

    Regards...jmcc

Well, it seems they've even bigger problems on their hands now http://gaming.icrontic.com/news/modern-warfare-2-exploit-leaves-some-xbox-360-gamers-wondering-%E2%80%9Cdude-wheres-my-rank%E2%80%9D/

Um, including the biggies like the horrible spawn points, the ****e maps, P2P matchmaking problems and hit detection issues.

But, at the end of the day, once IW has the money that's all they care about.

Anyone else noticing an increase in the number of game connections that time out since the patch? It seems to take longer for me to find a game I can connect to.
    On PC with NAT open.

Yep. A lot more timeouts. Also it seems to crash a bit more now. The whole P2P nature of the game (as opposed to dedicated servers) is something designed by a complete idiot.

Couldnt agree more, the match making is woeful, just left a match where there was someone who was prestiged beside another who was a first timer level 11!!!!

How they can set games up that way is ridiculous considering its about 50% skill and 50% knowing the maps ebs and flows which you can only get from experience, having someone in the same match who has played 20 times longer than the rest is just the highest level of stupidity.

Setting a match based on last match scores is a joke, if you get a lucky care package that gives a chopper gunner you can post huge scores but it was just luck... the next game puts you top of the list to "balance" the teams opposite the other best player but sure it was just dumb luck with the scores from the last game. IW are plain stupid, no right minded developer would have dropped the ball so badly for such a big game for anything other than a compete lack of intelligence.

I agree with you but the matchmaking has always been terrible. I genuinely think it only matches based on connection until the lobby has played a game to base the teams on.
However this new patch seems to have broken how people connect to each other.

What a bad joke like, lets set up matches regardless of peoples skill level just as long as the game is TECHNICALLY playable..... regardless of the fact if its ACTUALLY playable due to the amount of noobs and nerds thrown in together.

The only reason to set a game up like this is to save money on server connections and space. They and everyone else knew this would be a huge selling title before release but yet they still wanted to scrimp! Thanks IW , they are the very definition of cheap. Roll on medal of honour to kick its teeth in, with the MANY technical problems of this game MOH has been given a huge head start over them and looking at the theme, style, tech and set up of MOH they were already aiming squarely at MOD's head.... chlick click .... bang.

Another patch tonight ... and connections were even worse !

Hopefully it is just because not everyone was patched up , they should set it so a msg pops up to tell you to quit steam and patch up .
