ESPN on upc/ntl digital

    Sorry if I'm late to the party on this one ..

    .. I got a note from upc today to let me know they've added ESPN & ESPN Classic to my Digital Max line-up, at no extra cost.

    I switched over to ESPN Classic to see what was on and 'discovered' highlights of the 1983 Lions NZ series.

    For a fan of my age - anorak heaven ;) !

    1971 & 1977 series to follow in the weeks head, plus Ollie Campbell's international debut - IRE NZ 1976.

    You will find them showing old 5N matches too from Feb on - i got a great kick out of them last year. They went back fairly far too.

    phew!!

    i thought i was the only one who secretly watched that channel.

    They show alot of games in new zealand for some reason, or have for the last while anyway.

    What package do you have to have to get ESPN? Setanta, is it?

    its free on sky satellite afaik

    With upc, they're now bundled as part of the Digital Max package.

    My bad :o

    That 1976 gane was played in NZ and was not Ollie Campbell's debut. That happened against AUS earlier the same year in Lansdowne.
