I am thinking of buying a Zetor 9540 or a Kubota 90hp tractor and was wondering what your views are on them. Will be used for general farm work. Cheers :D

Either would be sound, both no frills machines, kubota well built jap, zetors too have really come on a lot, they were never really bad just niggly bother but cheap and easy to fix, newer ones are excellent

Had a 6340 for 5 years from new. Lovely engine, but there was always something small wrong with it. Also and unlike the 9540 to the best of my knowledge it had dry brakes and a PTO clutch, both of which were god awful and the reason we sold it.

I am a big fan of the older Zetors, but given your choice I would definitely go for the Kubota.

The zetors of this era never managed to impress me to be honest, they aren't overly nice to use and seem a bit dated in the way they are manufactured. I know a few people with them and the amount of little problems they give is annoying, a few have been serious.

I love the new Kubotas, worked a few different models and was well impressed, seem a well built, quality piece of engineering, and Kubota do have a good reputation in general, tractors get rerviews too,

Kubota might cost more though, but it will hold its value well,

are you talking about brand new 9540 zetors , i dont know much about them but we had a 9540 zetor ( 1995 ) about ten years ago , the brakes gave a huge amound of trouble , they were constantley sticking and heating

i would go for the kubota , zetor have a great engine but the thing about zetors is that thier is always something wrong with them , oil dripping here or there , something squealing or tapping for something

would have thought the kubota would be a good bit more expensive than zetors? like alot of people here we owned a good few zetors, grand tractors but always a seal going here or there, I would go for the kubota

kubota are well priced as thier only really starting out with larger tractors , thier about 5 - 7 k more expensive than a zetor

the kubota would have a better build quality than the zetor and would be very light on diesel as well.

hi im new to this but could do with some advice. have a zetor 7245 with loader, thinking of trading up. have looked today at an 08 8441 and an 07 9641, both with rossmore loaders. both have low hours and are very fresh looking. i need something with a bit more weight to handle bales on the loader. delaer is asking round 32k for each of them. getting 7 for my own. is the forterra a better buy?? i want something with little trouble and able to handle bales of considerable weight.

32k is budget enough to get something like a ts115 or a Massey 4370 at about 03-04. Would be far better than an 08 zetor imo.

you`d get a dinger of a ts115 if thats your budget, heard them 4370s have soft enough gearboxes anyone have any more opinions on the masseys?
