What do people think of the England squads announced today?

It seems they see Eoin Morgan as a one-day specialist by the English selector. The way Pietersen is playing at the moment I'd say Morgan will consider himself unlucky not to be picked for the test series.

This lad Shahzad has gone completely under the radar, will he turn out to be another Pattinson?

Looking at Pietersen (only on the highlights) it comes across that he still has his injury on his mind and if that was the case maybe he should have been rested for longer and brought Morgan in for the SA test series.
Cook as captain, Im about unsure about him captaining, personally would have gone with Collingwood and would have rested Anderson until the spring. Just my thoughs

Pietersen's mind was certainly elsewhere...he looked a million miles away, even when fielding at times...a couple of very dodgy returns. I think Morgan should be in if even only to cover Pietersen. One more poor show and they have to drop him, players should be picked on form not reputation.

I was a bit surprised by Cook's appointment as well, even if he is vice-captain. Strauss, as contracted captain, should be there. Collingwood, Broad etc have played just as much. Anderson however deserves a break, he has been their standout performer in the last while, has put massive work in by the look of it.

The only reason they could have for not trying out Morgan would be his relatively poor first-class average (36.54). He's proven to be able to cut on the international stage, albeit in the one-day game and I'm surprised they didn't give him a go in Bangladesh.

Eoin currently is a one day specialist. He needs to dominate in first class cricket before he would even be considered for test cricket.

Saying that, I would expect that he is delighted that he has not been included in the test squad for the series in Bangladesh, because it makes him a much more appealing player for tomorrows IPL Auction. I would not be surprised if he is signed for $750,000.
