Looks like a dream come true for studio set up like my own. Not enough info on the SSL web presently. I'll await the release and keep a close eye on it.
    In principle - defo.

Have a look at SSL's new baby - half inching one of the best ideas of the Matrix .

As always, any of your feedback/ideas will go straight back to the manufacturer.

So, does the audio in your DAW do a DA/AD down the ethernet cable?
Or is it just controlling the order and what's in/bypassed, connected normally via your interface........

    No,

The idea, exactly like The Matrix as I understand, is that you connect all your hardware in and outs to it once.

Then, via the software, you insert whatever on to whatever in whatever order you like, without having to plug or unplug.

These can be saved as presets ready to be recalled.

For the Project studio it allows you to use something like you Manley Voxbox as a mic pre while tracking and then use the eq/compressor in the mix without having to replug.

That's a great idea - Richard from SSL will be over ok, so it could well be an opportunity.

    Thanks for that !

I can see this being an absolute godsend for mix engineers who have a heap of really nice outboard compressors and eq. Maybe less so for tracking, depending on what your approach to tracking chains is. Not worth it for anyone who doesn't have a load of outboard though.

    Clever device.

There's a video of the inimitable Jim from SSL talking about this at NAMM on Protoolerblog. (Scroll down the page to find it.)
