Need to speak to nurse on phone

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way that I could speak to a nurse over the phone. I am not with VHI so can't ring them via their nurse line and the D Doc service doesn't start until 6pm.

Is there anything like the NHS direct phone service in Ireland?

Ring one of the main hospitals in Dublin, and ask to speak to a nurse. They have no issues talking to you over the phone.

most GPs have a nurse on duty who would be willing to speak to you over the phone,

You dont have to be a member of VHI to speak to Nurseline, I have spoken to them a few times and Ive never been a member :)
