I was using the intervention for my first prestige and i got pretty good with it... but when i prestiged, i started with the barrett (because i had all the challenges on the intervention) and i notice that i play MUCH better with it, it seems to ADS much faster and seems lighter in a sense.

So what do you guys play better with?

What do you guys think of the M21?

I use the Intervention an awful lot. I tried using the barrett and I kind of liked it but I'm too used to the feel of the intervention.

I'd say the barrett would be alot better of a sniper over long range but the Intervention is better at medium range (maybe even short range too with quick scoping shots) because you're forced to look outside the scope after every shot, so you could quickly aim at someone else before you zoom back in and then you pop them.

the barrett with fmj is pure pwnage, you just have to make sure you have a good aim and get 1 shot kills with it.

    I prefer the Barrett because it's semi-automatic.
They really ruined sniping in MW2 though, it's only viable on 2-3 maps and even then you'd still most likely get a higher kill count with an assault rifle.

Stopping power makes it a one shot kill. FMJ just increases penetration damage which is next to useless on a sniper.
I stick a heartbeat sensor on mine. You can here it beep even when scoped which is handy.

extra penetration can be handy on the snipers sometimes
for example, i was sniping from the boat house up to the estate on...estate, and i happened to shoot a guy through one of the wooden fence posts in the chest and i only got a hit marker(without fmj on, i'd guess he would be dead if i had it on)
but yeah, sniping has changed, i much prefered having to judge where to shoot ahead of an enemy when he was running to one side instead of shooting right at him, not really as realistic

If a sniper is trying to catch enemy spawn, the FMJ allows you to kill more than one person in one shot. As in, it allows the bullet to keep going through the first enemies body into the second and possibly on to a 3rd or 4th if you are lucky.

It is unlikely to happen too often, but some of the top snipers use it for that reason alone.

FMJ is the ultimate attachment for snipers to be honest. I've lost count of how many times I see a gun poking out a window but not the body, so I shoot through the wall and get a headshot :P (absolutely lethal on hardcore)

used to use the heartbeat sensor but I find that you start to depend on it too much and you don't use your own awareness to watch your own ass and to know where enemies will be advancing. And also you don't get to use FMJ with it on (unless you have bling, which in turn stops you from using sleight of hand pro)

I like both, barret has a great feel when it kicks but I like the action of cycling the chamber on the intervention. As for impact, I use FMJ on both and rarely do i not get a one shot kill.

Someone said earlier they dont feel that it is accurate when aiming ahead of a target, i found it much more accurate in that regard than MW1, in fact I have gotten some off target hits because of the sway.

I use the ACOG scope on both as it reduces random sway, however i cant seem to hold my breath and steady it like on MW1. Anyone else noticed that?

Aiming ahead in either game is not a good idea. Unless you mean you have the crosshair ahead of a target running forward and you fire once they reach the centre of the crosshair. Firing before the target reaches the centre of the crosshair will result in a miss. (sometimes lag and lag compensation will make it look like leading your target would help)

You couldn't steady the ACOG in MW1 and you still can't in MW2.
I read on the wiki that steady aim reduces the sway of the ACOG on certain weapons but I couldn't see any difference.

Interesting, I never used the ACOG in MW1 so i didnt realise. I stayed with steady aim and normal scope, which worked fine. But in MW2 i like to use ninja pro for class 3 slot, its essential for a decent sniper class.

    So the options then are
    a.) minor sway in ACOG
    or
b.) lots of sway with normal scope but the ability to focus while holding breath

grand so, some testing to be done!!!

the M21 is a kill magnet...it's so easy to kill with it I never bother going for headshots whereas with the intervention I'd normally go for headshots.
Maps like Derail I'd get 30-40 kills on hardcore on the M21 for HQ pro..

    My clas is
    M21/Intervention with Silencer
    M93 Rattaca
    Claymore
Perks...scavenger if using M21, if not sleight of hand
    Cold Blood
    Ninja

ever use the M21 silenced in hardcore?? if u shoot them in the leg its a one shot kill! great way to get a heartbeat sensor for a sniper, since silencers are so bad one them...
