    Heya,
I am currently in my fourth year studying Product Design and get a grant to help with expenses. Now I want to a degree in Visual Communications Design which is another 4 years. I want to know if I can get advanced entry into 2nd or 3rd year Visual Communications as I will already have a design degree and don't want to repeat the basics in the early stages of a design degree. Also, would I still be eligable for a grant? Would I have to pay full fees?

You'll have to talk to the relevant college about skipping the early years of a college course, but yes it does happen that people are allowed skip ahead. If you already have a degree however, you won't be eligible for a grant unless you're progressing from a Level 7 course to a Level 8, or alternatively if you were doing a masters you could be eligible since you'd be moving onto another level. And also unfortunately you wouldn't be eligible for 'free fees' for doing another course at the same level.
