yesterday, my friends and i were in dundrum town centre. three of us decided to meet up with three other friends and we then decided to go to mcdonalds. my three friends had already been in mcdonalds and sat down to hold the only free seats in the shop while deciding what to order. straight away the security guard walked over and gave them hastle to leave because of this they went up and bought their food. after eating their food they were immediately told to move as they were not eating anymore. after meeting up with myself and two other friends, we decided to go back to mcdonalds so that we could then eat. three of us were eating while the other three sat with us waitng for us to finish then the security guard came over and started to give one of our friends alot of hastle telling him to leave and called down several managers and security guards of the town centre accusing him of breaking a table. an older woman then stood up in the defense of my friend saying she had witnessed the previous situation earlier and what had been happening then and said that my friend was being harassed and was innocent of any wrongdoing . my friend then refused to leave until myself and other friends finished eating as he contested his innocense. This situation left myself, my accused friend and other friends humiliated in a packed mcdonalds as we were surrounded by security guards and staff out of no fault of our own. my friends and i couldnt finish our food because of the threatening environment we felt we were in and as soon as i finshed eating i was humiliatingly escorted out alongside my friends by security guards and asked to leave the premises of dundrum. can we do anything about this legally as we believe in no way were we guilty of any sort of crime or disruption in the shop but were harassed for no reason and treated disgracefully by staff and security just for being youths(aged 16-18)?

could this be a case of defamation?
