I know you can move abroad to look for work and keep your dole for three months (until you find a job) but how does this work? Do you need to apply and have your case considered? And how do you collect the money, is it paid into your bank account if you leave Ireland?

All I know is having asked about it, it's only available to those on Benefit, not Allowance like myself.

As the poster above said a ub transfer abroad/E303 is only available to those on Jobseeker's benefit.

Just apply in your local social welfare office. They will advise you of how many days you have left to transfer, up to a maximum of 78. (If you have say, only 24 days jobseeker's benefit left, you'll be able to transfer for 24 days only).

Advise of your day of leaving and where you are going to and give them your new european address.

You then have 7 days to register at the social welfare office of the place you are going to.

The E303 forms will be posted to you at your adress abroad (can take anything from a week to a month to receive these) from Eu Records section in Ireland.

Take these with you to your social welfare office abroad and you should get backdated to your date of application. It will be paid at the same rate as Irish Benefit and not the rate of pay of the country you are going to.

So you'd have to go several weeks with NO dole payments? And how are you supposed to give them your new EU address before you've moved over?

They really make it difficult :-/
