what laptop do i need?

    I'm looking for advice on spec rather than brand.
    My current laptop has 1.6 ghz and 1 gb ram. I am looking to upgrade but I'm not a techie so have no idea what i should get.

    It's only for family use. I have 3 primary school kids. I gets used for ipods, kids website games, online shopping etc.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Well whats your Budget?

    Look for a Dual Core Pentium 1.8Ghz 3gb Ram, Pc world do a nice Toshiba for around €479 17" screen i seen recently with Windows 7

    Whats wrong with the one you've got?

    If it's on Vista then either upgrade to Win 7 or downgrade to XP and it will be just fine for everything you want.
