We have a red/rust coloured carpet, with small tan and light blue crests through it. Our walls are magnolia and we have a tanned wooden fireplace. We currently have an old navy blue sofa which we are going to throw out. However, we are not sure what new colour sofa we should get ? I think a dark brown leather sofa. My partner would like a creme coloured leather sofa. Do you think light or dark sofa is the answer ? Many thanks for any responses

    Hi,

If you are restricted to keeping the red carpet you should go with a cream leather sofa, with a combination some fabulous red/beige/brown cushions.

This colour sofa will go with a nice timber floor that you may put in later on, or with a nice neutral carpet colour.

A dark coloured sofa would make your room very dark, and maybe smaller looking too ( unless its a really big room). Because you already have a dark red carpet on the floor.

    Hope that helps.

    K
