I am in my early twenties and plan to go on holiday with a group of my friends in June. I'd love to do something slightly different and not just get the regular package holiday. I was thinking of maybe looking into renting a villa in south/southwest of france or some similar location, getting cheap flights to somewhere like la rochelle or carcasonne and renting a car. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on where would be a good location? Doesnt have to be france necessarily... Basically would like something not astronomically expensive, close to the sea, with some bit of nightlife not too far away and some few interesting things to see/do during the day.
    Thanks!
