Gigs Outside Dublin

    Why is it that very few good bands play down or around the coutry bar Dublin? I would love if the Docklands in Cork had an indoor arena.

    Depends what you mean by good bands? I don't think Cork or Galway have it that bad, though it sometimes seems to be hit or miss which city gets included on an act's itinerary.

    For the more bigger acts, places outside Dublin just don't have a large enough population base, compared with other European cities.

    I've actually heard that certain bands agents refuse to book gigs outside of dublin. it's probably for the reasons ye were saying, the hassle of getting there, not enough people etc
