    Hi,

Ive a ford 4000 tractor, and i am having some problems with the lift on it.
There seems to be two problems on it.

    1. It seems to be starved for oil, when i go to lift the arms, i here a small sizzling noise from the lift. The oil filter is an external one, It was changed a year ago, im not sure is it partially blocked or is there another reason for the sizzling noise?

    2. The lift when cold, when i have a grab on, and i go to lift a heavy load it sometimes finds it hard to lift, also on a rare occasion when cold i lift a heavy load the lift might slowly drop when i have the button under the seat pushed out. but the next time it might hold. There is valves in the lift(load valve and the lift valve), could the lift valve need to be replaced?
I rang a New holland dealer he seems to think this could be the cause.

Can anyone explain to me how this lift valve works, i.e. when i pull the handle to lift up the lift, how is the oil regulated into the cylindar/piston that lifts the lift.

    Thanks
