    Howya lads,

Im just wondering what you guys do when you's are feeling a little stressed!

Im not stressed per say, just yesterday and today Im having one of those days where everything and anything is annoying me, im fighting and bickering with everybody (even the dog has been annoying me :p), sitting around doing nothing letting life pass me by and not willing to do anything.

Its totally out of character for me, and I dont like it, and just want to relax and let evrything go, but no matter how hard I try I seem to be getting wound up even more!

So what do you guys do when feeling like this?

When I'm feeling stressed I sometimes go for a walk and bring my mp3 player with me and listen to loads of music. That helps.

If I don't go for a walk then I just do something I enjoy. Reading, Xbox, watch football. Anything I can really to take my mind off things.

Exercise is also a good one too if you've got the means at home.

I was quiet stressed about 18 months ago. Many things bothered me. It was mainly down to me being overweight at time etc and not feeling good inside. I got cranky and moody and just in bad form more so then before. then I went to gym lost 3 stone and now feel much better. Basically I could stay the way I was or else changed my ways for the better of myself.

Whateveer is your problem I think the best thing for you to do is to fight it head on. Be honest with yourself and work around ways in which you become a better person my sitting down and studying where you want to be and how you can become that person.

I run, my stress is caused by alot of unburned energy, so a good 40-60 minute run takes care of it.

First of all, eat well. Don't be throwing your blood sugars all over the shop with junk foods like fizzy drinks, crisps, white bread etc.

    Get lots of fresh food.

Secondly, play some really loud lyrics that help you get some crap out of your head.

I like to drive and listen to Springsteen.

    Here's a great unwind song:

Totally agree with you. Usually go to my local beach and run just by the shore, nothing like the fresh sea air!

I've always found walking helped, what I've tried recently is breathing excercies although if you get to the point where you're exploding I doubt the breathing is going to help at that stage. I went through a phase of being very highly strung a few years back in the end I was able to link it to having upped my caffine intake so drastically reduced it. Try to think of any changes which have recently happened or what exactly is triggering it.

What I would say is try nip it in the bud, if you notice you are getting stressed more and more, get yourself help. I know it's different, but I have depression at the moment and at the start just thought I was having a run of bad days and even when I realised it was more than that I didn't bother dealing with it (I was always one of those "get over it" sort of people), the end result if I've just started my fifth week in hospital because of not sorting it earlier. So not wanting to scare you or anyone else here, but don't be afraid to seek help if it keeps happening.

I post on the baseless lie in the Cuckoos Nest as a diversion.

It helps if you have a friend or partner to talk thinds out with.

Some good tips on the thread that I echo but I'll just throw this out there, its pretty crazy but it works for me for some reason.

    Theres a film called "Platoon", you've probably seen it (if not, rent it), anyway theres a brief moment where a soldier has come under heavy fire and has been hit, he starts to scream, which is giving away the postion of his comrades when one of them jumps on him and puts his hand over his mouth, stares him right in the eye and says;

    'Take the pain, take it!!!!!'

Whenever Im really stressed I just say to myself; 'man up and take the pain!!'- Told you it was crazy but it works for me:

Yea I think that could of been a big part of it, I was just lying around feeling fed up....but I didnt want to move...was out last night and went for a run earlier and feel back to normal.

Again I suppose I could also apply this, piggin out on crisps bars, fizzy drinks, followed by more bars and fast food...still in Christmas mode....sorry, sorry WAS in Christmas mode, back into the gym and more importantly routine from today.

I can really sympathise with the OP. I never know what to do when I'm stressed out. I cannot sit down and relax, cos I just get more wound up thinking and seething.

A nice walk usually does it. Clear the head, get some fresh air, maybe meet up with my little blond surfer girl best mate and have a vent and a smoke with her! Always does the job!
