Hi, can anyone tell me if they have used a splitter to feed 2 coax cables into a tv, 1. NTL analogue and 2. Digital Terrestrial signal from aerial?
This is how I want to do it, I don't want to use scart for either.

I've tried it with 2 splitters, one a cheap plastic one and the other a better quailty metal one, but on both. digital is fine, but the analogue is "fuzzy".

    Thanks in advance;)

You can't do this with a standard splitter - you're going to feed crap off the aerial in over the NTL signals on the same frequencies. You need to either use a switching devices (Maplin sell them as being for games consoles) so you click from one to the other; or you need a combiner which has the NTL frequencies one side and the DTT ones the other.

I'm presuming NTL still use VHFIII / lower UHF bands; and DTT in Dublin is quite high on the UHF band so this should be possible. I don't know where you'd get such a combiner though - the installers on here may know.

See if you can find a supplier for a TRIAX TFC 3537. That's a diplexer that will combine high and low UHF signals.

If you can find somebody who supplies that...they'll probably be able to tell you whether that will work....OR they'll be able to find you the right unit for the job.

Cheers guys for your help, there's a site tvtrade.ie that sells the triax, so I'll drop them a line about that.
I'd prefer not to have to use a switch but if it comes to it then that's what I'll do,(though Maplins sell it for 8.50 or something like that, robbing sh*tes)

Update: that TRIAX TFC 3537 did the job fine, bought it from tvtrade.ie for €16 ex vat, don't know what thats like for price, but I'm happier then having a manual switch, picture perfect and can get the ntl analogue and DTT in at the same time, would recommend the guys at tvtrade.ie v helpful. thanks to all above for your help :-)

Have the same problem as OP, I have one of these and wonder would that do the job or is it even worth trying.
TRIAX TMC 3335 STP Switchable DC Pass.

The specs in the link say it only passes UHF 21-33 on the lower leg; seems a bit limited for what you require (maybe this is incorrect?). Seems to be an old unscreened item too.
The TFC diplexers mentioned above pass all VHF channels on the lower leg as well as the UHF allocation.
