Backdated TRS

I applied for TRS for two years back. Bank is looking to hold onto these funds. Can I contest this or argue my point that in fact this money is mine and I get to choose were it goes?

TRS goes straight into your bank account as a credit. I suspect you are in arrears on your mortgage otherwise why would they be asking for it?
