    Hi all,

My Dad has a Blackberry but wants to switch to an iPhone.

However, his company says their IT Policy states that only Blackberrys can be used.

Is it possible to get his company e-mail settings from his Blackberry and enter them into an iphone?

The company I work for don't allow iPhones either, but I have my iPhone setup perfectly to work with work emails, calendars, etc.

If you have all internet settings,it won't be a problem at all.

I've moved your thread to this (Apple Media Devices) forum where you'll hopefully get a better reply.

I really don't think the blackberry system will run off an iPhone so your options are probably to get the POP3/IMAP email settings from the IT department. From what you've said they probaby won't give it to you though.

Sorry, but the BB email service uses proprietary software, which has been licensed by RIM to some non-RIM manufacturers, but not Apple and, given the inroads that the iPhone has made into RIMs sales, it looks unlikely.

At present, there is no way to connect an iPhone to a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server).

Yeah, the only way to do it, assuming the workplace uses Microsoft Exchange for mail, would be to set up an Exchange connection which is supported natively by the iphone. But since their IT dept says the only device they support is Blackberry, they will probably have it disabled/firewalled off on their exchange servers. My employer's policy is the same. Blackberry or nothing, exchange sync with the outside world disabled.
