    Hi,

I am looking for an anonymous browsing solution.

    What would you recommend?

    I need:
    - solid solution that I can use for a while, not having to reconfigure every now and again. If it means $$ I still want to hear the suggestion

    - fast browsing

    - being able to set up a location (showing my location as being USA as opposed to my real location)

    - needs to work with: http/https, yahoo mail, gmail, analytics, ...

    - MAC OS X support

    - I don't need: pop/imap, torrent ...

    Many thanks

Online proxy server? Can be slow!

You could use an internet cafe.. For speed

Tor is the only real option

Tor or an an SSH connection to server in the US.

You basically buy virtual node off them for $20 a month.
It can be built in either the US or UK.
When you move it from the US to the UK it wipes it but there are very few steps to install squid proxy so its handy enough. You could also backup the squid.conf to speed up the process.
I set it to listen on localhost only and use ssh tunnel to access.

I use OverPlay.net VPN service to give me a VPN connection into the UK, US, France, Germany, Swizerland and Ireland (if I'm traveling).
Costs just under $10 a month.
Mostly focused on allowing folks to get the local TV replay services over the net (BBC iPlayer, RTE Player, HULU etc)

    So that would cover nearly all of your requests;

This VPN connection is still very fast and I've come across no speed issues yet especially when streaming videa from HULU and BBC iPlayer :)
Think they have a proxy service but I haven't tried/signed-up for it yet
