Well, it's official, water's blocked in Tallaght, especially in the brookfield area.

I got 1 question though, can we still turn the heater on, even though there is no water?

We have a water heater thingy w/e.

The water (if I am correct) in your heating pipes is re-cycled around your pipe system and heater constantly unless your extracting it (by tap?) in some fashion.
More wiser folk here will easily inform you better.

I know they are deliberately lowering the pressure at off peak times to try and make up (during the night too) their current water losses in some places around the country.
It might not be actually turned off. It could be that the pressure is so low now in your area that the water itself is not reaching you.

As to when it should be back to normal, that's a phone question that your local council might be able to help with in the morning. Sorry I can't be of more use at present.

    Still in on Kreuzberg.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Jesus don't put on the heating.

Check your water pressure valve beside your tank and I bet it's dropped below 1.

If you use it when there is no significant water pressure you'll cause an airlock and feck your system up.

Obvious, but don't use the washing machine or dish washer either.

    Working fine in Tipperary OP
But then we pay for our water and don't rely on the council ;)

Call your council to answer your question, they could help

Your local authority's website should have details for the times the are switching off for, during the week they would have turned it back on from 7-9 in the morning or so for people going to work, not sure about saturdays though.

They will also be throttling flows out of reservoirs when it is back on, so don't expect the usual pressure during the day either.

    This applies to Tallaght:

Notice re Water Supply Restrictions Friday 15th – Monday 18th January 2010

South Dublin County Council continues to urge households to conserve water and be mindful of the published conservation notice. Water levels in the reservoirs are at a critically low level. As a result, restrictions to water supply will be necessary.

The following schedule will apply over the weekend, on Friday 15th, Saturday 16th, and Sunday 17th January.

Water supply will be restricted throughout all areas in South Dublin County from 7.00pm – 7.00am on the above dates.

This will result in loss of water pressure or a loss of water supply in all areas. Water Supply will be restored each morning from 7am. Customers should note that it will take time for the water to make its way through the network.
