How we see ourselves compared to the rest of the world

Prompted by a similar thread in TLL thought I'd put it to the floor here, except maybe broaden the spectrum a bit not only to cover our physical appearance but also our personalities and anything else you may think of. How our own perception of ourselves and sense of being may differ from how others perceive us.

Very broad so hoping some good discussion will come of it :D

As I said in the thread in tLL most of the time when I see myself in a mirror I don't think I'm particularly fat or ugly. When I see a photo though I ****ing hate it. I haven't put a single photo of myself up on facebook other than when I dressed up as towelie for Halloween a while back. Still, I walked around Lanzarote a couple of years ago in shorts, a straw hat and flip-flops for two weeks 18 months ago, despite being a good 6 stone overweight, so obviously there's some confidence in me somewhere. :pac:
You've met me Will, objectively just how sexy am I? :pac:
Personality-wise unless I purposely piss someone off I usually get on well with people, though I can be a total prick when I feel like it.

Good questions all, I have to say.

Personally, I don't mind the way I look really when I look in the mirror (I'm not exactly God's gift to women or anything!:o) but I hate photos of myself altogether!

Personality wise, I consider myself to be unlikable! I would find myself arrogant, domineering and I can be very narky/grouchy when I want to be... This despite the amount of people who would hang out with me a lot, were ''gutted'' when they heard I was moving to America (a pisstake; how I wish I was moving to America!) and how many friends I have who always ask me out on nights out and always ring/text/email me... So maybe I'm more likable than I give myself credit for!!!

If someone close to me, let me know they had an opinion that was at odds with my own self image.
That might give me food thought.
Otherwise I couldn't give a flying f..(you get the idea) how people percieve me. ~shrug~
I mean their opinions might annoy me, but I dont value them.

Oh but Will thinks my personality is morbidly obese. :D

well I usually see my self in a looking class;) but seriously tho

Physically I'm in great shape i play rugby and golf and i have nice hair and skin

Personality I have a great personality and the women seem to like me so I must be saying something right!

Well my parents are very proud of me and what I have achieved in life, I perceive the world as the rich vs poor where the rich will control the poor, the poor will never rise against the rich ,because of natural laws set down 100 of years ago

Other people may perceive me as being a snob but I'm not I just view the world different that's all.

I have been told by friends both close and not-so-close I can be charmingly arrogant (paraphrasing). I don't see it like that, I just don't have much patience.

Physically? I've always wanted to be ripped for a short period of time just to see what it's like but I wouldn't want to be long term. I enjoy my food too much. I'm lucky that I have quite a broad 6ft frame so a few stone overweight really doesn't show.

I'm very intelligent compared to most people I know.

I lack strong opinions or convictions on emotive subjects that many people feel strongly about. Probably because I rarely trust gut instincts or emotional reasoning. I generally choose the most liberal stance on most things due to this.

I'm quieter than most and I seem to be very likable. I never make an effort to make friends, but I somehow accumilate them.

I get motivated in bursts. I'm very lazy for a long time and then will be more productive than some people would be in a few months in a week.

There are very few people who I trust the intelligence of. I don't make this known to people, but sometimes I can imply it and some people find me belittling on occasion.

Luckily, I pretty good looking I think. Have developed somewhat of a beer belly over the last year (can't complain about my weight to anyone though, because I'm still uber skinny compared to most people).

I'm arrogant, but only in my head.
