Irish Green Card

I am a foreign national with an engineering degree from DIT. I was recently offered a job with an annual salary greater than 30K. However it has come into my attention that i would require a green card to work in Ireland. I was told that in order to apply for a green card you have to have a job offer letter from the company and this job offer should be for a period of atleast 2 years. In my job offer letter, it doesnt say anything about a time period. As a matter of fact this is what it says

" I am pleased to advise you that you have been selected for the above position which will be covered by a fixed purpose employment contract. "

Now, i am not sure what a fixed purpose employment contract is. Do you guys know what that means?
It my actual contract it says that i will be working for the duration of a particular project that my company is involved in. However, it doesnt say how long that project is for either. Do you guys think i should ask them to give me another job offer letter ( with the duration of the contract mentioned ) or do you think a "fixed purpose employment contract " will suffice the requirements of a green card?

I am starting work next monday (18th of Jan). I would appreciate it if you guys could reply before monday so i can decide on whether to ask or not.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In very simple terms, a fixed purpose employment contract means exactly that. i.e. the contract will run for the duration of that fixed purpose. So if that fixed purpose was for example building a bridge, once the bridge is complete the contract is complete, and that is irrespective of the length of time it took to complete. Essentially, this type of employment contract is an alternative to a fixed term employment contract; and is normally used where an employee is being taken on for a specific project and it is uncertain how long that project may run, so rather than employ the person for 2 years on a fixed term the employer employs someone until the end of the project.
