    Name: Goldy

Fate: Died through and act of misguided love. My little sister (aged 4) decided he looked hungry and fed him a bite of her sausage from breakfast. Bye bye goldy!

We had a golfish and a little bowl. Bought a little catle ornament for him and went away for the weekend. When we got back the water was all black. Apparently the little catle wasnt sealed properly when it was made and disolved killing the little fish. Awful sight, little Strawberry floating on a black pool :(

Bob was one I remember, we had to keep lowering the level of water in his bowl because he would keep jumping out.

One morning my little sister went into the room, and stepped on him in her bare feet. Buried in the back garden in a matchbox.

Ted also passed away by getting stuck in the filter. Buried in the back garden in a matchbox.

Peanut died by some sort of fish disease which caused him to lose the power of his fins on one side, so he couldn't swim properly. Buried in the back garden in a matchbox.

Colm  and Bubbles were goldfish we got at the same time. Colm carked it after around a year and is buried in the flowerbed in the back garden.

Bubbles survived for an amazing 8 years after, then died when I was away leaving him with my neglectful Parents!! Dunno what happened the corpse

This happened to my friends goldfish too, except he was in a saucepan.. as his tank had cracked!! She thought it'd be ok for the night until she got into town the next day to get a new tank.. but the next morning there was no fish in the saucepan.. a quick check of the floor brought nothing.. so then feet had to be checked.. one of her flatmates boots found poor squished fishy :(

    Hi
Just to let anyone whos interested in why I was asking such a question, that some off the goldfish will be featured in an exhibtion in Galway on the evening of the 15th of March. If your fish was flushed or not given a funeral he/she will feature in an installation I have made to commemorate them.It will at the main GMIT building in the entrance. Thanks again to all who helped and replied there were some wicked responses.Ive attached some work in progress images for those who cant come and see the work.
    Regards
    Laura

Had a goldfish won at a fair when I was a kid. Didn't have a name (I'm not sentimental :D) Don't know what he died of but he was flushed (by my dad).

 Cannibalistic goldfish?! Good grief! Awesome names for them, though..

I only ever owned the one: A large, fat orange heffer named Finbar who cut a very lonesome figure in his oversized bowl. He lasted all of a month when, with the logic that only a 6 year old can muster, I chucked a whole pot of fish flakes into the bowl, thinking it would be enough to sustain him as I went away for the weekend...

...ended up coming home to see Finbar floating on the surface, surrounded by his own entrails.

Apparently, he'd eatten so much fish food his stomach exploded.

Nasty way to go. He got flushed down the jacks. :(

That's the best death of a goldfish I've ever heard of - sorry, I don't mean to make fun of your loss ;D
