Ford Scorpio airbag

    Quick question.

We have a '98 Ford Scorpio equipped with driver & passenger airbags.

Obviously, carrying a rear facing baby seat in the front is unsafe with this system in place.

Is there a quick way of dissabling the passenger airbag without compromising/damaging the whole system?

    Thanks in advance.

yes there is a very simple on/off switch you can have fitted to your car, not a big deal and relatively cheap. do not fit a resistor no matter what any fool tells you as an insurance company will walk away from you if ever involved in a claim if it was found .

And don't forget to inform your insurance company about it too. You will need to declare to the insurance company that a change has been made to a safety device in the car outside the manufacturer's original specification. Insurance companies are very sensitive around this subject in my experience.

The easiest and safest option imo is to put the baby seat in the rear of the car and get one of those small detachable convex mirrors to keep an eye on the little one.
