I want to hear this, are there any clips hanging around the internet yet?

Any Ideas how much it costs?
I'd expect its more than the dual terror.

    It's pre-ordering in the states @ $899.
    They're 60 day lead times!!
No clips that I could find, pretty much like the release of the Mark V.
Features wise it seems like it'll be to the Tiny Terror what the Mark I was to the Fender Princeton.

Here is the first video I could find. Not a great recording but it shows it off.

I find it kinda weird that large amp companies, Mesa, Marshall, et al, would allow the first clips of their new releases to be hand cam, massively compressed, uTube videos where the guy is moving around causing all kinds of phasing.
Surely you'd want the unveiling of your new, sound related product, to sound good?
If was releasing a new sports car I'd want The Stig test driving rather the cast of Father Ted.
I saw the new Marshall JMD digital amp video from the NAMM show and it's really bad too. The compression is actually causing noticeable distortion, at least I hope that's the case otherwise it's just a big pile of sh*te.

I never understood this myself. I mean they know people are going to be doing youtube demos of there amps, often in bad conditions (Terrible camera mics). I never understood why they wouldnt just do a miced up demo themselves first.

Id love to see how heavy this amp can actually get, with a couple of mods the tiny terror turns into a monster I hope this is no different.

About time they got a new webpage design. The old one was a horror.

Actually when you click the product link, it's the same old ****.

Looks like a cool amp, I understand it is aiming for a AC-15/30 ish kind of sound (alongside the Fendery and Boogie tones in channel 2) which is newish territory for Mesa.

Unfortunately it'll still be pretty expensive by the time it arrives in Europe..you'd be surprised how cheap Mesa stuff is in the US compared to here. Also, it doesnt seem have an effects loop, which is a major omission in my opinion.

Amps really need an effects loop for gig situation. Strange that Mesa would not include one. They are hardly cutting corners like some other brands.

Id let Europe swap Marshall for Mesa any day, they complain how expensive marshall is over there while we complain how expensive mesa is over here. Would love it to be the other way around.

I've noticed that before, too. I reckon it's based on the perception of (a) "it's made over there, so it must be better" and (b) "it's really expensive by the time it gets imported, so it must be better". Some members of Yank discussion forums seem to treat any Marshall as if they're the best amps on the planet.

Don't know why. They are facinated by the 1960's Marshalls.
However, the little Mesa looks full of other features and typical power amp options. Although the Mesa tones can be completely different than the British style amps.

They have totally different mids to british tone, much brighter and sharper. Blackstar ISF filter is good for experimenting with this. If you have ever used a blackstar amp or HT-Dual pedal they can switch between the american and british sounds by changing the mids.

Any way back on topic, would like to see the range ocabs they bring out to go with this head.

A lot of people forget that Mesa have made literally dozens of differently voiced amps over the years. For sure they have the 'Boogie tone' amps (MKIIC+ etc), but a Rectifier sounds nothing like that. And the Stiletto is designed from the ground up around an EL34 power section. A Lonestar Classic (6L6) definitely doesnt have a bright bright mids, it is as deep and fat an amp as ive heard.

The point im making is that you can't really use these 'Mesa amps have different ---'' type expressions, because they have put out such a variety of amps in the last 40 (yes 40!) years that they can't all be lumped into the same category. Not to mention that half their amps are tonal schizophrenics, with all the voice toggles and power options :pac:

You can be sure that if Randall Smith has gone to the trouble of introducing a whole new series of amps, its bringing something tonally to the table that no other Mesa offers. Just good business practice, keep the metalheads happy with the Recs etc, and then try and win customers from other genres with Brit-sounding amps, blues amps, jazz amps etc. This one is obviously heavily influenced by the AC-15 or 30, but im sure it brings a few new tricks to the table as well, especially on CH2.

It does have a touch of the AC-15's off it..... Not that that is a bad thing of course
