In a school where discipline is left up to teachers and you have little or no support from certain parents, what would you do?

    Crumble, maybe.
I'll be interested in any comments from the more experience teachers here!

When you say it's left up to the teachers, do you mean individual classroom teachers? Are people just left to manage on their own without back up? Are management not involved (Year Heads, anti-bullying co-ordinator, guidance counsellor etc.)?

The school management would need to 'replace' the parents and insist consistently on an acceptable level of behaviour. Looking after the small things can have quite an effect on the bigger issues.

A school without a consistent, implemented behaviour and discipline policy would not be a very pleasant place to work.
