Web browsing very slow, hijack this log

Hi,
Have a 7 year old desktop soon to be replace but... recently very slow at web browsing and often cannot connect to sites. It's just a P4 2.5GHz with memory upgraded to 768MB but was working pretty well until recently. Switched to vodafone broadband but problems started after that so don't think there's a link. Have internet connection all the time.
Replaced fsecure antivirus with avast, ran a malware program and found 4 trojans which I removed. Still not much better. Here is the hijack this log, hope someone can suggest stuff to remove. many thanks!

I'd say the Web Scanner is a possible culprit.

Thanks for taking a look. I had the problem before I installed avast at all though. I had fsecure as my antivirus which I got from vodafone broadband and problem was there when that was running too. Or do you think that has web scanner function which was slowing me down too? What's the risk if I disable web-scanner?
I ran test my connection by visualware and my upload speed is only 37.2kbps, could this be my problem?

Try a quick general cleanup.

Click Start - Run and type MSCONFIG and press enter.
Go to the start up tab and untick all items apart from your antivirus
Restart the machine.
Download and run ccleaner or AML registry cleaner.
Run a full scan of Malwarebytes antimalware.

Other Ideas:

Open I.E. and clean out all cookies and temporary files.
Reset I.E. Settings to default settings.

Perhaps change DNS settings to OpenDNS

Everyone, thanks for your suggestions. Discovered my problem is actually dodgy wiring, to my phone jack. It's an old house so phone jacks are in strange places and had two phone cables connected together and the connection was loose and causing the problem. Amazing that it still works with a dodgy connection, just works slowly! So patched things together better until can get longer phone cable next week.
btw, realised computer wasn't the problem when tried another wireless device and that was slow too.
Thanks again for ideas - my PC is nice and cleaned up now too:)

One thing that occurred to me is do you have 2 av's.Avast and symantec or are some of them from a previous installation
