Selling my iPhone

I'm selling my 3G 16Gb iPhone to make way for a 3Gs, what is the best way to delete all of my contacts and SMS messages?
Also I know I need to clear all passwords, history and caches, is there anything else to that I should do or is there a Cydia app to wipe all personal data, without resetting the phone and removing the jailbreak and unlocking?
    Thanks.

P.S. I'm not pimping my phone here mods, just trying to make sure I remove all personnel data before I give it to a stranger.

If I were you personally I would do a Restore and jailbreak again, reason is that all the apps install from Itunes will stay there for the new user and will have your email address as the owner so the new owner will be unable to update them.

Not sure if correct format but to clear contacts I would do it from Itunes, in the Info window select a Contacts and choose a program you don't have any contacts saved, same in the Mail accounts untick any you might have there, after scroll down and in Advance select "Replace Information on the iphone" that way it should delete everyting you have in the phone.

To clear cache do it from the Setting on the Safari section.

Don't forget to remove your pictures, maybe music too, etc

Thanks Nava, if I restore will I need to download an earlier copy of itunes (it was a fairly convoluted (and stressful) way to jailbreak the phone (pawnage I think) when I did it first time round, I haven't jail broken with blackra1n yet, is it as simple as it seems, literally factory restore, plug in the phone & one run blackra1n reload Cydia etc back onto it?
    Thanks

It's even easier again. Be no hassle to you. Why you getting a 3Gs? Seems pointless to me.

I'm going to give the 3Gs to the wife and use her upgrade to get the 4G when it's released, but I agree, the 3Gs isn't enough of an upgrade from the 3G to warrant upgrading to without having another usable upgrade for the 4G.

    That's a good reason! :)

Looking forward to the 4G myself, though I recently sold my iPhone 3G for a Blackberry 9700 which I love!

Yeah so Blackra1n is easy. Took me only a few seconds to unlock an iphone using that (once I jailbroke it).

There's another portal like Cydia call 'Rock' which I liked better than Cydia if you want to check it out.

Yeah, I'm using Rock at the moment I prefer it too, that's great news about blackra1n, thanks for your help. I hope I don't regret shifting the perfectly jail breakable older bootROM phone that hasn't caused me a days trouble, for the newer tethered jailbreak one, I've just got a dose of upgraditis in the last week.

The 16Gb models are going for between €300 & €350 by the looks of things on adverts.ie (I have one for sale see my Sig for details;))
