Tyre Fitter/Balancer/Alingment thats takes PRIDE in their work?

As the title says I'm looking for someone who fits tyres, balances ALL 4 wheels and tracks cars and actually takes pride in their work.

I currently use a crowd in the midlands but they won't balance rear wheels ("sure why do you need to that for?") and will not balance wheels to 0 unless you argue with them for 15 mins and my car was in the same state after tracking.

I went to the shop while waiting and came back to find he'd one alloy in the machine to take off the tyre while he'd another alloy on top of this and was forcefully turning the second alloy across the other to take off the balancers....couldn't give a fcuk he was scoring the 1st alloy.

My Father and others have had run-ins with this fella. To him its just something to do to get his wages.

So any one have any recommendations? I live in north Tipp but work in Kildare so I'm willing to travel to use the right guy as I do a lot of driving and want my car right!

if its a beemer you have then you should go to Dave McCann in Blanchardstown

I used to take my E39 to him and he has all the right equipment and weights for the BMW's. Proper 4 wheel alignment up there. Ring in advance though as he can be busy

either Dave Mc Cann as above or the other day i went to fast fit on Clanbrassil street with a slow puncture expecting to get it plugged fr the 10e fee but no, the guy took the wheel off, located the puncture, took the tyre off, put a patch inside and grinded it down smooth and then of course put it all back together.

i thought that was great service as its a tenner for a plug out my way at home!

Ive looked into this as well, over the last few years around Kildare. Only managed to find a small operator who is excellent at balencing, but does not have the equipment for the Tracking. If you manage to get it done right, can you let us know. :D

I haven't used them but I've heard Dave Masters Motors on Kylemore are very good.

Discount tyres in Rosemount, Blanchardstown. I'm very fussy when it comes to things like this and I won't bring my car anywhere else now.
The have recently bought all new tyre fitting and balancing equipment.

Seems to be an issue all over the country to be honest. I always have difficulty getting the steering wheel straight after an alignment. It seems to be impossible to get it dead centre, always a little left or a little right.......

I've heard a lot of good things about Dave McCann, just wondering can anyone give me an idea how much it would cost for a balancing and alignment there. cheers

Sagart tyres are brilliant for tyres and balancing doesnt have any alignment equipment though

brilliant service and good prices also

There are a lot of cowboys out there i booked a car once into a certain place beside halfords on the belgard road in tallaght and they never bothered to balance the wheels off i goes onto the m50 thinking she running like a dream and the steering wheel nearly came off in my hand!

The management sorted it very quickly and to be fair exceeded my expectations so I wont go on too much about it but you do hear a lot of cowboy stories!

OP, I don't know who it is you use in the Midlands, but I used McNamee Tyres in Mullingar before and found their attitude spot on.

I had 4 wheels balanced and aligned by Dave McCann's last summer - think it was €80 as I remember. I know I wasn't unhappy with the cost, did the job right too.

I'll row in here and say that if you want it done perfectly, and are really picky about tramlining on white lines etc, go to mc cann. It's no polished floor showroom, but they will transform the way the car drives.

I used them once before and AFAIK the owner works full-time in the shop, could have been the owner.

Very polite, but so so quiet his trade, he always parks the van at the main roundabout to try and attract business.

Heard on the grapevine he does not like fitting customer supplied tyres.

I live in Roscrea in Tipp so anyone who knows that area will know the outfit I was talking about. (Yellow vans!)

Most of the suggestions are for the Dublin area but I can't get any good recommendations for around my area!

What bugs me is that people don't take pride in their work anymore.
