Syncing two iTunes libraries

Has anyone found a good and reliable way of doing this? I want the iTunes library on my iMac and MBP to be the same. There are a few 3rd party apps but none of them seem up to much.

One kinda workaround here.

Merge the two libraries and then use ''corall all dupes'' applescript to remove duplicate tracks - which tells you which tracks looks like duplicates and you can decide by looking at file size and length if they are duplicates.

Obviously if you have even 40gb in each and a half full harddrive this would be unworkable but the only way that works well.

I have the music on a NAS, and copied my complete itunes library, incl album art (ie users/username/itunes or whatever it is) to the other users and it worked perfectly.

The DB file points to AFP://QMultimedia/Itunes Music so that's the same from both users' perspective, it just requires authentication (guest access denied) which is a login popup that one could save to keychain.

However, if you want to share between an apple and a windoze pc then I haven't figured that out yet.

Incedently, I use one of Dougs ITunes Scripts to tell me of any files that are in my itunes library music location but not in my itunes library. I.e. if I copy in a folder I can use that script to pick up all the new files - handy if you rip outside of itunes.

Ah, Home Sharing, thanks.

I knew about it but was foolishly under the impression that it only worked with iTunes store bought files.

It's syncing now.
