Sitting Room Ceiling

    Hi all,

A while back I had a leak in my upstairs bathroom, which left a large ugly water stain on my ceiling in the sitting room. The ceiling plaster has also cracked!

    I have two questions:-

Is there anyway of patching up the ceiling plaster, without having to replaster the whole lot?

How will I go about covering the water stain ( which is brown) ?

    Thanks a million

    C

If its absolutely, completely, thoroughly dry then polyfilla & sanding should leave it perfect.
To cover the stain - paint, paint and more paint.

to cover the stain the best thing to use is stain blocker. Your paint store will have it. ;)

Some white gloss paint will cover the stain then ceiling paint on top- no need for stain blocker

Any oil based paint will do that's what the pros do :D:D
