Yes, it is true. The larger baggage allowance is what counts when you've got it all on one booking :)

If you booked the Aer Arann flight separately on their website, and the Aer Lingus one on the Aer Lingus website, then it doesn't work like that. If you had of booked it all via the Aer Lingus site, then you would get the bigger allowance.

You'll be subject to Aer Arann's 15kg luggage allowance for their flights. Any extra they may charge you for.

No it doesent matter if its not a through EI/RE ticket. it works the same if you flew into Dublin on Iberia for instance and onwards with Aer Arann. All you need is to be able to show the Aer Arann check in agent the confirmation email/ticket for your EI flight. Its all in the T's and C's on aerarann.com.

I can't see that in their T&C's at all, and I'd be surprised if they did tbh when it's ticketed seperately.

From the news section of the website:
Passengers beginning their journey with Aer Arann and travelling onwards to international destinations such as the U.S, Asia, and Australia will receive their additional baggage allowance free of chargeonce they present their onward itinerary with proof of baggage allowance at Aer Arann check in desks

To double check before you fly you can give them a ring on 0818 210 210. Rarely any trouble getting through to them and they have always been very helpful any time I have contacted them.

    Hi

I work for Aer Arann. As far as I know so long as you can show them your itinerary for the long haul travel, they will honour it. I do not work at the ticketing department but I am pretty sure that is the deal.

Call them to be certain though
