Does anyone have any experience of these? What is your opinion and what is a good price to pay for one?

    Thanks

Friend of mine had one and all it seemed to do was jam and I mean every second round with all ammo types. The one he had (notice "had" ;))would probably be deemed "combat" style by Gardai too making it very hard to licence :o

Thanks bunny shooter, I tried a sig mosquito and all it did was jam also. I'm thinking about a .22LR pistol but had in mind a ruger mkIII or ruger revolver. Has anyone any experience of these, the tanfoglio is available at a half decent price local to me but I think i'll give it a miss.

I have or have had all the pistols you mention , i have a tanfoglio 1911 .45 acp and its never misfed or misfired once , but i suppose its not surprising with the size of that round and appears well made , i had a ruger single six stainless too and it was a lovely revolver to shoot , it came with a spare cylinder that was chambered for .22 mag , problem with them is that they are very slow to load and unload as they are like the peacemaker in that you load through a "gate" in the side of the frame, this was a problem during competitions as you are against the clock sometimes .
I also had a ruger mk3, in stainless also and it is a very accurate and ruggedly made pistol and worlds apart from the like's of sig mosquito's and p22's and infact that could be a problem , as i found the pistol very nose heavy (6 3/8 " barrel), fine if shooting double handed but 100 rounds single hand and you start to shake towards the end . if you are getting one , get the hunter model as it has a fluted barrel.

What kind of money was the mkIII? I looked at a target stainless model about 3 years ago that was £600 new in a shop in the north.

Had a Tangfoglio .40 myself, excellent pistol

Had a Ruger MK III, excellent pistol

Had a Ruger Single Six, excellent pistol

Single Six isn't on the dreaded list :o but that was my favourite pistol closely followed by the MK III

Take a note from the old West gunfighters. Trick is to " load two fire two"
Load all six chambers. When you have fired two shots, immediately reload the chambers.Takes practise, but everyone seemed to have managed with Colt peacemakers 150 years ago. Some even managed with five shots, keeping the single action hammer resting on the "dead mans chamber"[An empty chamber ,usually stuffed with a few dollar bills for burial money.]
