Everytime i have the heating on which is alot in the recent weather , there seems to be a strange crackling noise coming from the hotpress. this noise can be loud and noticable especially at night time . the noise is not coming from the main hot water cylinder . its coming from the smaller cylinder which is connected to the big cylinder. its a pain as it has woken up my 2 year old daughter now a couple of times in the recent cold spell . any ideas welcome

Are you talking about the 'copper' cylinder in the hotpress? cause this doesn't have a small tank on top of it:confused:

When my system is on and pumping, I get some loudish creak creak noises but these are caused by the pipes that pass through the floorboards through holes that were cut too small to avoid this.

Could this be your problem...early in the morning it can be quite annoying.

no its not the copper cyclinder , its the small red cylinder located around 2 feet away from the main copper cylinder in the hotpress. this has only happened in the last month or so , not a problem before that .
