    Hi,

Have a 05 Peugeot 206. Problem been the light for the airbag on the dash is constantly on. Brought it to a Peugeot dealer as I have an NCT due soon and he said I needed a new Comm 2000. They said it would cost 250 euro before labour.

Is there a site anyone has used to get parts from thats cheaper than a dealer would charge or would I be better going to the dealer?

    Thanks.

I have heard that sometimes cables/connections under the front seats goes loose and therefore you get those errors and the fix is to solder those cables/connections better*

*of course they are airbag connections so you better know what you are doing there.

I forgot to mention maybe price the NI Dealers as they are usally cheaper
    for parts...:)
or this is'nt a bad price for a new one,you just need to check
with them for the correct part number.

If you do email them just check if its a plug and play unit.

If you want you can pm me your vin number i can tell what part number is
    required for your car....:)

You dont need the COM2000. The dealer is being lazy. Most likely, it is a loose connection underneath the driver or passenger seat. You can sort it yourself if you have any kind of wiring experience. On my old 406, it was the orange wire and the brown connector. I removed the connector and put the wires together with electrical tape. Sorted.

    COM2000??? Give me a break.....

The airbag won't be a failure item until April 1st according to this (#18)

While I agree that there is a strong possibility that the dealer was having you on and that maybe the fix was down to a faulty connection under one of the seats, I wouldnt recommend just winding the wires up together and putting tape on them. They should be properly jointed either by solder with a shrink rap cover or by using top quality clamped connectors

Ya they are now failing cars on airbag lights. My mothers 1999 peugeot 206 failed a few weeks ago due to airbag light not coming on. We were quoted about 200euro for a new control unit. Is there any cheap way to remedy it? Staying on after 6 secs also fails

99 times out of 100 its an issue with loose wiring.

If the light stays on and doesnt flash, the passenger airbag has been disabled by the key hole on the right of the steering column (Peugeot 206). If it is flashing then there is a wiring fault. Dont waste money on a unit.

I have a problem with a 00 206 but cannot find wires under the seat. Is there anywhere else it would be?
