24/7... one of my favourite aspects of old WWF. Do you think it could fit today? especially if the brands were to be re-united, it'd be a gimmick to keep the vast amount of near useless stars in the company.

I agree. It was a great belt for fun and there was so much different things they could do storyline-wise.

My favourite thing they did was when Molly Holly turned on Hurricane. Great stuff

Or when Ivory was giving crash a massage and then she hit him over the head with a vase and triedd to pin him

I think trash wrestling has had it's time and it's gone. The hardcore deal was done to death after ECW, WCW and WWF all ran it's course. The 24/7 deal gave it a little longevity (I liked the 24/7 deal for a while) but when they're having 15 title changes on a show, u know it's time is ending. They did take the idea and re-jigger it into money in the bank, the air of not knowing what's gonna happen and when.

Wrestling has gone towards more athletic-based contests and I don't think WWE (or anyone else, for that matter) who can make those kind of hardcore matches watchable. Especially in the current PG-era, where gimmick matches aren't that special either.

I suppose people still like seeing Abyss blade himself with tacks and crap but getting it's own division and/or spot on a weekly show is a step backwards IMO.

    YESYESandYES!

    It would be brilliant.
But lets look at it like this, it wont happen again because it would take time away from the divas, the guest host or other things that take away from the so called 2 hours of a wrestling show.

And if TNA does it the internet will explode with cries of plagiarism.

The Hardcore title was pure garbage for much of its existence, but it did give us some excellent stuff. Raven vs Rhyno is one of my fonder memories. I woldn't like to see it back in any promotion, though. Its just not the kind of wrestling I enjoy seeing on a regular basis.

Hard to see how it has a place in the PG era. It was a harmless enough diversion back in the day and at least gave the bootom of the card guys something to do, but in reality it was at its best for the comedy segments. Enjoyed the Wrestlemania when there were something like a dozen title changes throughout the show, including Hurricae coming in on a rope Tarzan style at one time.

Christian around that time was just so good, the ultimate schnakey rat bastard heel.

There was also someone driving a forklift at one stage (Al Snow?), much hilarity involving a wall of boxes ensued.

Always thought this was a cool match, with cool spots, like the one with the golf buggy and Raven going through the window, TNA could do a lot worse than having a title/divison like this especially with all the ex ECW alumni they have.

Totally agree. I forgot to mention that the Harcore Division was built on big/dangerous bumps, having people really hurt themselves - a lot of shots to the head as well. In the light of Benoit, Test et al WWE have finally shifted away from headshots, so it's really unlikely and a step backwards. We need WWE to make wrestlers to take better care of themselves, something that's the opposite of hardcore.

That said, plenty of no-charisma wrestlers take INSANE and disgusting bumps/damage in PWG, Backyard Wrestling, amongst other indy feds. You can get your hardcore fix still that way...

...There's definitely a market for it but i don't think it'd go down well in WWE. TNA is much more likely...they still love the random unprotected headshots :mad::mad:

My favourite belt is and was the hardcore title. Even though it got some good moments, the 24/7 rule should have ended with Crash.

Probably a waste of time now since ECW's supposedly on its way out but back when it was considered a world title I suggested (elsewhere) that the ECW championship always be defended under Extreeeeeeeeme Rules to make it distinct from the other two belts.

It wouldn't have to be a blood bath weapons fest all the time but simply the champion had to deal with and could use everything the DQ rules stop. Y'know "he's hardcore" and all that.

It was fantastic, for a while. It got very very very old for a while and people have forgotten that and that's the reason they dropped it and I can't see it not getting old again. It would be fine for filling up space on ECW but I think it'd be a mistake to bring it back to a proper show. The best match though was the Shane McMahon vs. Blackman match which was so so solid and then had a fantastic spot with the titantron. The best moment was this
