Marusia You will only need Foam liners if you have somthing seriously weird about your feet

Snow and Rock do them as far as I know

Properly fitted boots should avoid the need for foam.

The important thing is proper footbeds and the right boots for you there is a thread prob on the 2nd page about boot fitting

i got my boots a few years ago in Great Outdoors and the heated the fome and while it was still hot you put your feet into them and leave them on for a while and the fome cools to your feet shape - have never had any problems with them whould recommond it , and if you can wait until after the season you can get a good deal on them

I don't think the heated foam thing they will do in the likes of Great Outdoors is what the OP is on about. I've heard stories about what I think your asking about though, and it didn't sound like fun at all.

Something along the lines of them sticking you in the boot, injecting the foam until it's at least a size too small, and then leaving you like that until it sets. The only plus side to getting it done from the people I'd spoken too was that they were given Jagermeister during the ordeal as well to try and divert their attention from the pain of having their feet crushed.

magic roundabou That is a standard custom liner available on all boots. Foam liners are

Liquid foam injected into a specially designed liner costin anything up to €200 on top of the boot price. Comformable make a really good one that both Great Outdoors and Snow and Rock do.

It is incredibly difficult to get right and can go wrong easily small things like the temp of the shop can affect how the foam sets in the boots. And if they set wrong there is no way to correct it other than starting from scratch and re doing the whole process

Unless you are a full time racer or have very unusual feet it is allot of money for a normal skier.

robinph Not as painfull as you have heard when done by a good fitter. As good as the guys are In Great Outdoors and Snow and Rock here that do them I dont think they get enough practice at doing them day to day.
