Samsung NC10 - White Screen

Lately my NC10 has been acting up. I think that the ribbon cable might be faulty which is causing the display to go completely white if the brightness is too high or the angle of the screen is wrong.

I'm going to try to update the firmware but I'm a little confused as to what updates I should install. When I look at the available downloads there are several models listed under NC10. For example NC10-11GB, NC10-12PWBK, NC10-13GB etc.

The model listed on the bottom of the laptop says NP-NC10, which is no help.

Finally, if this is a physical problem, what is the best course of action to take? I bought this from Amazon UK in August last year, but I'm having trouble finding the correct address to send a query to. Any clues?

No help with regard to the screen, sorry. But I've spent a good deal of time on NC10 modifications before choosing the right one. Turn it upside down and, as you said, it will show NP-NC10. But if you look a bit lower, on a white background above the barcode, you should see the full model name. Moreover, Amazon also lists the full model code on its site so if you check the old link or invoice, you should be able to get it from there.

With regard to repair, you need to talk to Samsung directly. The laptop warranty is normally 12 months so you're not covered anymore but they will suggest what options you have.
